Dear Pirate,
One month ago, thanks to 94 incredible people, our Goteo campaign came to an end.
Together, you raised €10,944 for Clean Beach Pirates.
What a beautiful reminder that another way of doing things already exists: built by many hands, many hearts, and a shared belief that small actions, multiplied, can change the world.
Some of you have already started enjoying your rewards:
⚓ 14 of your names will soon be painted onto our boat (the spot has already been chosen!).
🌊 9 of you have already joined us for a week sailing through the Ionian Sea.
🎨 6 will receive original artwork by Momo.
🔮 4 will receive a tarot reading with Caro.
🍵 3 will join us on board for tea.
💙 2 will receive a Process-Oriented Psychology mentoring session.
🐬 2 will receive a recycled materials keyring.
🎶 2 will receive a personalised sea song.
⛵ 2 will join us for a day of sailing near Barcelona, the Balearic Islands or Greece before the end of 2027.
We have eleven months to complete this promises but we hope to do it earlier with the majority of them, which will be in autumn after our plastic clean up season.
And thanks to your support, so much has already happened.
In June, we launched this year's programme aboard a second boat, generously made possible by skipper Patrick and pirate Caro.
Meanwhile, our own pirate vessel TIAMAT travelled all the way from the Netherlands to the Ionian Islands in Greece, steered by an ever-changing crew of pirates: Steven, Anton, Gerard, Pete, Paco, Irene, Tarik and many others. The journey wasn't without challenges. Pumps failed, sails needed repairing, ropes snapped, and countless things broke along the way. But that's what pirate communities do: together, we repair.
Today, after finally bringing the engine back to life (thank you, Thasos! 💙), TIAMAT is once again sailing towards hidden beaches, coves, and islands.
Nothing has stopped the pirates.
During this first month alone, more than 800 litres of plastic have already been removed from the sea and coastline by our crews.
A huge thank you to Jessica, Priyanka, Elena, Véronique, Tarik, Laura, Perla, Teresa, María José, Paz, Alicia, Pau, Mercedes, Stani, Óscar and Laura for already being part of this adventure.
Every bag collected, every shared meal, every conversation under the stars reminds us why this project exists.
